After School Club

The MTPD After School Club offers an extra curricular creative experience. Children will be encouraged to discover their creativity through looking at and listening to the works of famous artists and composers. The After School Club can be designed to work in half termly or termly blocks.

MTPD After School Club Tasks include:

  • Improvisation and composition activities
  • Introduction to Musical notation including; stave notation and graphic scores
  • Introduction to the works of famous composers and artists
  • Study of artistic techniques
  • Group work and discussion

School Assemblies

A Make The Paint Dance School Assembly is a fantastic way to introduce children to the inspiring world of classical music and art. The Assembly length is flexible, lasting between 45-60mins.  It is a fun and interactive concert designed be an accessible and inspiring session to get children interested in music and art.

MTPD School Assemblies include: 

  • Introduction to the instruments of the orchestra
  • Live music performance
  • Drawing and art tasks based on musical stimuli
  • Teacher's pack with a selection of warm up games and activities for introducing music and art into the classroom.
  • Discussion of emotion and ideas posed by the music and art
  • Introduction to a famous artist and composer
  • Improvisatory music making alongside a professional ensemble

 

 

Half Day and Whole Day  Workshops

Step into the world of Make The Paint Dance with our Half Day and Whole Day Workshops. These workshops transport participants into the worlds of the composer and artist at the centre of the chosen programme. 

Half and Whole Day Workshops Include:

  • Introduction to the instruments of the orchestra
  • Live music performance
  • Drawing and art tasks based on musical stimulus
  • Teacher's pack with a selection of warm up games and activities for introducing music and art into the classroom.
  • Discussion of emotion and ideas posed by the music and art
  • Study of a famous artist and composer
  • Improvisatory music making alongside a professional ensemble
  • Production of large scale group and individual artworks
  • Production of miniature compositions
  • Work alongside a composer and artist

 

Residencies

                                                                          

A Make The Paint Dance Residency offers schools and their pupils the chance to immerse themselves in the works of a famous artist and composer through a series of workshops.

Residencies Include:

  • Introduction to the instruments of the orchestra
  • Live music performance
  • Drawing and art tasks based on musical stimulus
  • Teacher's pack with a selection of warm up games and activities for introducing music and art into the classroom.
  • Discussion of emotion and ideas posed by the music and art
  • Study of a famous artist and composer

  • Production of large scale group and individual artworks
  • Production of large scale group composition
  • Work alongside a composer and artist
  • Family/Community project exhibition
