Over the summer MTPD HQ has moved to Yorkshire and in the winter of 2018 we plan to launch a new Saturday Creativity School Programme. We are really excited about our move and can’t wait to start creating new partnerships and stakeholders in Leeds and West Yorkshire. Our Creative Director Megan Jowett has also taken on a new role with In Harmony Opera North working in schools in Leeds increasing accessibility to classical music and teaching lots of amazing, inspiring children the violin. Our composer in residence James Banner has taken on the role of Tutor at Leeds College of Music Saturday Music School and will also be working with undergraduates on the Jazz Course at LCM.
We have been developing and refining our programmes for different settings and researching the positive effect of using a Growth Mindset within the company as a whole. In the short term we are planning to develop an apprenticeship scheme for young musicians to gain skills in workshop leadership and chamber music as well as starting a creativity school and continuing our commitment to improving accessibility to the arts - developing creativity through music and art.
We continue to be supported by UnLtd and we are looking forward to learning and improving through the UnLtd Do It Award.
